Frequently Asked Questions

Having had the pleasure of working with hundreds of couples to help make their moment special, there are a few things that come up in conversation a lot. You can find answers to the most common questions I get asked here. Hopefully this helps, if you’re interested in checking my availability and/or pricing you can use the contact form here.

  • Chat with each other about what you envisage for your ceremony. Pick a place and a date then let me know what you’re after and we can go from there. Don’t leave it too late, I book up pretty quickly (especially for Saturdays).

  • I am a relaxed, chilled but very professional celebrant and I love my job. I love working with couples that trust me to do what I do with flair, charisma and the ability to balance the fun with the serious sides.

I offer personalised ceremonies that are warm, friendly, engaging and actually enjoyable. The balance between the sentiment and the fun elements is very important and can be a fine line. A great celebrant is able to assess an audience and flex their presentation style accordingly.

After all, it’s the unplanned moments that can be the most memorable and you need someone with the skills to be able to capture those moments.

  • Hell yes! A marriage ceremony should be a time that you as a couple are able to enjoy through an engaging, relaxed and casual vibe. If you’re after a ceremony that is less about the fun and more about the formal, then that’s possible too.

  • By law, you have to say your minimum legal vows which I will have for you to read on the day. Personal vows are an incredible way to declare how you feel about your person but are 100% optional. I have a vow guide I send to any of my couples that would like some guidance.

  • I’m a Civil Celebrant so provided that we have all the legal requirements sorted we can include whatever you want. No religious elements are needed but we can include them if you like.

  • Yes, I manage all of the legal aspects to register your marriage and then after the wedding, I will send you a link to apply for your Official Marriage Certificate from Births Deaths and Marriages if you need one. This is paid by you to BDM and will be posted to the address you provide when you apply.

  • You must not be in a prohibited relationship.

You must not be married but if you have been will need to show the divorce or death certificate/s of your previous spouse/s.

You must both be consenting. You must be over 18 (one of you may be 16 with court consent).

You must give at least one month's notice with a Notice of Intended Marriage form. A celebrant handles this for you.

You need two people, over 18 to witness your marriage.

You need an ID that proves your identity, date and place of birth (passports or Birth Certificate and Driver’s Licence).

  • Sure do. I am based in Sydney and cover Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, The Shire, Western Suburbs, Northern Beaches, ACT, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter Region, North Coast, Byron Bay, Kangaroo Valley, Newcastle, South Coast and Southern Highlands and pretty much anywhere. Additional travel costs may apply for flights and/or accommodation. I’ll let you know what these costs are on the initial quote.

  • Yes. In fact, I have been an MC for longer than I have been a Marriage Celebrant. Investing in a professional MC is so important in ensuring your reception is run well. As your MC, I’ll remain cool and calm under pressure and ensure any unexpected changes to the day can be handled immediately.

You, as the couple, do not want to be organising things on your day. Handing over the responsibility to a professional MC will help you relax and know that everything is under control.

  • The fee for my services varies based on a few factors. I can send you a detailed quote after checking my availability. Fill out my enquiry form for more info.

  • Yes, sure can. I will reply to you if I’m not available with a list of suggested celebrants for you to contact directly.

  • Yes, I carry with me an excellent quality PA system that is battery operated and has great sound! You can even use this to Bluetooth your ceremony music if you like.

  • Yes, you don’t need any more than 2 witnesses to be present. We complete the legal preliminary paperwork no less than one month prior to the day, I prepare everything, then on the day, we say the legal minimum words, sign the paperwork and you’re married in less than 5 minutes. Let me know in your enquiry if this is what you’re after.

  • I believe love doesn’t discriminate and I have had the pleasure of marrying hundreds of couples of all different walks of life.
