Honouring a life. Cherishing a legacy

Losing a loved one is undoubtedly one of the most challenging life experiences one can go through. The grief can feel overwhelming at times, and although there’s the loving support of family and friends close by, it’s the deep personal connection lost that only time can begin to heal.

As such a farewell should feel like the person it honours.

Not a generic ceremony that could belong to anyone, but one that reflects who they were, the life they lived, the people they loved and the reasons they will be remembered.

I work closely with families to create each ceremony from the ground up, taking the time to listen, ask the right questions and draw out the stories and details that matter.

The result is a ceremony that actually sounds like them, one that brings people together to reflect and say goodbye.

what a funeral celebrant does

A funeral celebrant does more than simply lead the ceremony. My role is to guide the family through the process, take care of the details and create a farewell that feels true to the person being remembered.

That includes:

  • Meeting with family members to listen, gather stories and understand their wishes for the ceremony

  • Writing a completely personalised ceremony that reflects the person's life, character and values

  • Coordinating with the funeral director, venue, speakers, musicians and anyone else involved

  • Leading the ceremony with calm, warmth and the confidence to hold the room through difficult moments

  • Conducting funerals, memorials and celebrations of life across Sydney and surrounding areas

I'm not tied to a particular funeral home. Families are free to choose who leads the ceremony, and I can work alongside any funeral director in Sydney.

The Process

Truly touching ceremonies happen when we work closely together to create a personalised funeral service that warms the hearts of all attending. As your Funeral Celebrant, I get to know you and your family in the lead-up to the day and help you create your desired order of proceedings, including the people you’d like to involve directly. Here’s how we make that happen.

Why experience in front of a room matters

At a funeral, the people in the room are often grieving. Emotions can surface unexpectedly, plans can shift and sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones no one could have prepared for.

The person leading the ceremony needs to be able to respond with calm, read the room and give each moment the time and space it deserves.

I've been working in front of live audiences since 2004. My background in the performing arts taught me how to manage pace and tone, remain composed under pressure and connect with a room without making the moment about me.

For families, that means having someone who can gently step in when a speaker becomes overwhelmed, bring warmth to a difficult moment and lead the ceremony in a way that feels steady, natural and unhurried.

Funerals, celebrations of life and memorials

There's no single right way to say goodbye.

Some families prefer a traditional funeral ceremony, while others want something more relaxed, celebratory or unconventional.
It might be a graveside service, an intimate memorial or a larger gathering in a venue with more of a reception feel.

I work across all of these formats and can help you decide what feels right for your family before we begin planning.
