hunter valley wedding celebrant: 600 ceremonies and counting
The Hunter Valley is one of the most beautiful places in New South Wales to get married. It is also one of the most competitive markets for wedding suppliers, which means you want someone who knows the region, knows the venues, and has actually done the work.
I have been officiating weddings since 2014. Many of those have been in the Hunter Valley, across the full range of the region's venues, from sweeping vineyard estates to more intimate properties tucked into the hills. I know how these venues work, what makes a ceremony feel right in those surroundings, and how to bring the right energy to each one.
Venues I know well
Experience with a venue matters more than most couples realise. Knowing the layout, the light, the flow of the day, the way a room responds during a ceremony, that is not something you can read in a brochure. These are some of the Hunter Valley venues I have worked at.
Bimbadgen Palmers Lane
One of the most recognised names in Hunter Valley wedding venues for good reason. Big views, a polished setup, and enough space to make a large wedding still feel beautiful and considered.
Peppers Creek Barrel Room and Chapel
Tuscan-inspired without tipping into kitsch. Ceremony chapel, barrel room, exceptional food and wine make this a genuinely complete Hunter Valley wedding experience.
Peterson House
Elegant and straightforward. The winery atmosphere is there without being overwhelming, and it suits couples who want something refined and accessible for guests.
Circa 1876
One of the more refined options in the region. Beautiful grounds, outstanding food, and a slightly more intimate feel while still delivering the full Hunter Valley experience.
Redleaf Wollombi
Intimate, stylish, and genuinely peaceful. Redleaf is the wedding venue for couples who want something elevated without losing warmth. One of the most beautiful properties in the region.
The Woodhouse Wollombi
Modern country without the rustic clichés. Great indoor-outdoor flow and an atmosphere that builds well into the night. Increasingly popular for good reason.
Krinklewood Estate
A European sensibility in the Hunter Valley. Gardens, wine, and a softer romantic atmosphere that feels genuinely different to most venues in the region.
The Sienna Hunter Valley
Tuscan-inspired and seriously photogenic. For couples who want the long-lunch, destination-wedding energy, this is one of the best places in the Hunter to deliver it.
Adams Peak Country Estate
One of the strongest all-rounders in the Hunter. Open spaces, onsite accommodation, and a setup that works well for larger weddings without feeling impersonal.
Greystone Estate
A private estate experience on a generous scale. Suited to couples wanting a multi-day celebration where everyone stays onsite and the weekend becomes its own event.
Mystwood
Secluded, nature-heavy surroundings with onsite accommodation. Particularly well suited to couples who want something calm, private and immersive.
Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley
A well-established Hunter Valley venue with strong production values and a team that knows how to execute a polished event.
What to expect
Every wedding I officiate is written from scratch. There is no template, no stock ceremony pulled from a folder. I get to know you before I write a single word, and the ceremony I create reflects who you are, not a version of who I think couples are supposed to be.
For Hunter Valley weddings, I handle everything remotely ahead of the day and travel to the venue on the day itself. I coordinate directly with your venue team, photographer and any other vendors so that the ceremony runs exactly as planned, and I am available in the lead-up to answer questions, adjust the script, and make sure everything is locked in before you arrive.
Travel and availability
The Hunter Valley is approximately a two-hour drive from Sydney, well within my regular travel range. Travel costs apply and are outlined in your personalised quote.
I am also available for elopements, intimate ceremonies and destination weddings further afield. If you have a location in mind, get in touch and we can discuss what is involved.
Your Questions, Answered
-
Yes. The Hunter Valley is a regular destination for me. I travel to the region for weddings throughout the year and have worked across most of the major venues. Travel costs apply and will be included in your personalised quote.
-
As early as possible. Hunter Valley weddings often involve venue accommodation packages and coordinated guest travel, which means couples tend to lock in their date well ahead. Peak season in the Hunter runs from September through April and popular weekends fill quickly. Getting in touch six to twelve months out is advisable.

I have officiated at a wide range of Hunter Valley venues including Bimbadgen Palmers Lane, Peppers Creek Barrel Room and Chapel, Peterson House, Circa 1876, Redleaf Wollombi, The Woodhouse Wollombi, Krinklewood Estate, The Sienna Hunter Valley, Adams Peak Country Estate, Greystone Estate, Mystwood and Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley, among others.

Everything required for a fully personalised ceremony: a pre-wedding consultation to get to know you both, a custom-written ceremony script, all required legal paperwork and lodgement, attendance and officiating on the day, and a signed copy of your vows if requested. If you are also looking for an MC for your reception, I offer both services together.
-
Yes. Combining both roles is something a lot of Hunter Valley couples choose to do, particularly when the ceremony and reception are on the same property. One consistent voice and tone across the full day, one less vendor to coordinate, and a ceremony and reception that feel connected rather than separate events.
-
You are required to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the ceremony and no more than 18 months in advance. I handle this paperwork with you and lodge everything on your behalf. On the day, both of you and two witnesses sign the marriage certificates, and I register the marriage after the ceremony.
-
Yes. If you want an intimate ceremony at a Hunter Valley venue or property without the full production, I can work with you on something that fits the scale of what you are planning. Get in touch with the date and location and we can go from there.
-
Fees are based on your ceremony requirements and travel. I put together personalised quotes rather than publishing a rate card, so the best step is to get in touch with your date and a rough idea of what you are planning.
